Our Hiring Process

Online application & résumé screening

Our recruiting HR team scrutinises each application and résumé for substantial experience relevant to the role — age, right to work and experience criteria must all be met.

Initial video interview

Candidates meet our recruiting team by video conference to assess whether they are a suitable match for the role. Only exceptional, best-in-class prospects are requested to advance, based on: confidence, humility, adaptability, motivation, positivity and overall "vibe".

Reference checks

Candidates provide at least five childcare or education-related references for us to contact directly. These references must match the first five positions on the candidate's résumé, so we can verify their working history.

We ask each reference over 20 questions to fully understand the experience and knowledge gained in past or current positions — energy and engagement, responsiveness to feedback, areas of improvement and overall reliability.

In-depth written application (nanny candidates only)

The long-form application is where the personality and individuality of each nanny candidate shines. Candidates elaborate on their basic qualifications, specialised experience, education and certifications, employment goals, childcare philosophy and personality.

Internet & social media screening

Our candidates are expected to present themselves in a professional manner both on and off duty, including in their social media presence. We review candidates' social profiles and any other online content we may encounter.

Job-specific interview with our placement coordinator

On this call we discuss the candidate's background in detail and pinpoint exactly what type of position they are looking for. We pride ourselves on being excellent matchmakers, so we know each candidate well enough to judge whether their expertise, skills and personality suit the position.

Professional background check

Trusting another person to care for your children can be daunting; that's why we go above and beyond to ensure our clients are making a safe choice for their family. Once a client offers a candidate a position, the candidate undergoes a full background check report in compliance with applicable law, which includes identity validation, driving records, education verification and criminal registries.
